This was an awesome trip to drop Gory Hole Pit Cave in southern Indiana. It was actually dual purpose, the other purpose being to introduce Shelley to one of Indiana's deepest pits. To our surprise, there was what we would consider a "raging" waterfall inside the cave, due to recent rains, and our rope went directly through this for nearly 30+ feet at the bottom. Most of us had water resistant coveralls, and we held others out of the water, so everything turned out well. During this trip we actually climbed the standing line inside the cave (30 feet), and saw some beautiful formations in the short passage. We stopped off at Golden Gables resturant (open 24 hours) afterwards. Shelley took these photos. We didn't have photos inside the pit due to fear of camera damage.
