red rain

i remember the time it rained for a day

we tried to keep dry, yet the clouds teased and played

hiking and trudging, we still found fun

yet only in our dreams could we see the sun

fog and raindrops consumed the air

hike into the unknown we didn't dare

we watched the clouds take shape

looking into the mist, there was no escape

for 19 hours it rained that day

long enough to make us walk away
